Over the course of the last thirty years Mark Hagopian has been involved in the sport of open wheel racing in some form or fashion. Whether it was micro sprints, full midgets, sprint cars, or the like, his dedication to the sport has been passed through his business and race team.
Mark's first entrance into the sport was in 1979, and for ten years Mark raced in the micro sprint division of open wheel racing. Along with micro sprints, his father (Martin Hagopian) and Mark were car owners of a Western States USAC/ BCRA midget piloted by many great drivers through the 80’s and 90’s. Finding much success, a Turkey Night Championship in 1985 at Ascot Speedway with Brent Kaeding behind the wheel is of note…

As the 90’s neared, Hagopian Engineering was established, to support Mark's racing hobby; dealing in micro sprint parts, sales, and service Hagopian Eng. became a prominent open wheel racing business in central California. This decade also brought us Jason Meyers. Mark developed a strong relationship with Jason in his early teens, guiding him through the micro sprint division and his initials years racing sprint cars in California. As his crew chief and mentor, Jason and Mark achieved extraordinary success together as a team; to this day he and Jason continue to hold a strong relationship.

Through the first decade of the 21st century, Mark scaled back Hagopian Engineering to focus more on the family farming operation. Though still heavily involved in racing through his son's (Jake Hagopian) racing career, Hagopian Eng. was not actively involved in the racing business. However with the turn of the new decade and many great oppurtunities presented, Mark decide to take his knowledge and expertise to the next level in 2010 under a new image.
